Blue Ribbon Bases
offers a complete line of hardwood bases, plaques and specialty items for carvers, sculptors, taxidermists and collectors, as well as items for commercial needs.
We are an organization founded with your needs in mind. Our goal is to provde you with the highest quality product in the industry, with personalized, 100% satisfaction guaranteed service.
Made from 6% kiln dried hardwood, our black walnut bases are offered in over 400 shapes, sizes and thicknesses. We also offer flat surfaces, 1/4" recessed surfaces and a special 3/8" deep recessed surface ideal for three dimensional water presentations.

All our bases are "hand sanded" several times and finished with a medium-gloss, water resistant (and EPA compliant) lacquer finish.  Walnut, Oak and Cherry bases are finished in their natural color.  Stains are generally not used unless requested.

CHERRY BASES: Are finished in natural wood color, which with time, turns to a darker red.  If you want the color of antique cherry furniture, please state your desire as it will require a special stain to reach that desired color.  Please add 15% to base price for stain.

BLACK LAQUER: Our special satin finish black lacquer is available for any of our bases.  Please allow extra time to receive a black laquered item, as they require a filler and extra coats of sealer.  Please add 20% to base price for black lacquer.

UNFINISHED BASES: For customers who prefer to apply thier own finish, unfinished bases are available upon request, and are discounted by 15% of the price of the base.
